Summary
Significance: The garage and powerhouse reflect the lifestyle of Longview Farm that was both opulent and self-sufficient. The garage housed the family's seven cars with apartments for employees, including the chauffeur, above. The powerhouse generated all electricity for the entire farm until the 1930s. Boilers in the powerhouse provided steam heat for the greenhouse until 1978, and heated the main residence for a time as well.
