Summary

Penny Wicklander discusses her life and work as an at home care giver. She talks about always having to take care of somebody--in-laws, parents, and for the last 6 years, her son, who had Lou Gehrig's disease. Has worked with a few men, a client with a traumatic brain injury, and her current client, who is 86-years-old. Loves being a care giver. Discusses being a rural care giver, the importance of having a sense of humor, and the challenges of working with the dying. She also talks about being a union job steward and serving on the union's bargaining team.
