description

Summary

Significance: The Bradford Club, north of Neighborhood "C," is a small-to-medium-size one-story frame building with a sign out front to distinguish it from the village houses. The club's name honors Sidney Bradford, the first general manager of the new mine, who began at the mine in 1898, and served as plant manager from 1902 to 1931. The club was a center for company-oriented social functions, serving at various times as the location for a weekly medical and dental clinic, as a beer hall, place for company Christmas parties and 4th of July picnics, Boy Scout meeting hall, and a place for mine safety meetings.
