Summary
Roosevelt stands in the Kaiser's palace, rolling up his sleeves and brandishing a sword, while relating his exploits to the excited German ruler, perched on the edge of his throne.

Following the presidential inauguration of his successor William Howard Taft in March of 1909, Theodore Roosevelt embarked on an overseas trip that took him to several parts of Africa and Europe. A highlight of this much-publicized tour was his visit with Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, from whom he received a royal welcome.
