U. S. Military Academy, Power Plant, West Point, Orange County, NY
Summary
Significance: The Power Plant was the first of Cram, Goodhue, and Ferguson's ensemble of collegiate neo-gothic buildings in the Academic Area of the U.S. Military Academy. The Power Plant generated power to light and heat the vast complex of buildings that soon followed. Together with the Riding Hall, connected to the north, the Power Plant forms a strong architectural image of the Academy as view from the Hudson River approach.
