A black and white photo of a snow covered cabin, possibly related to: Pipe line, through which sap runs to sugar house. The sap from sugar maple trees is piped into the house where it is boiled down into maple syrup. Mad River Valley, Waitsfield, Vermont. Walter Gaylord place. He averages about 150 gallons of syrup annually, but this year tapped only 600 out of his 1000 trees, becaue of unusually deep snow and late spring. He owns several farms; in this particular unit there are eighty acres. It has been in family for three generations. Has about thirty-five or forty head of cattle, raises poultry and potatoes
