A footlight favorite. No American stage star or movie queen ever enjoyed a more appreciative audience than this old gypsie sic street performer of Skopjle, Serbia. Her face is in no way deformed but her sole idea of entertainment for the children consosts sic in making horrible faces and in uttering strange imitations of animals. She is always sourrounded sic by a crowd of admiring children who donate their pennies to her for her entertainment. Recently she came to the American Red Cross hospital and offered to play for the care of her little daughter who had been cared for at the hospital for several weeks. The money which she had in her possession testified to the similarity of incomes between footlight favorites in American and Siberia
