Scalp [?] demanded by seaman's union. Washington, D.C., Oct. 26. The ouster of Dan S. Ring, (above) personnel officer of the Maritime Commission, and Joseph P. Kennedy, Chairman, has been demanded in a resolution sent President Roosevelt by the Baltimore Branch of the National Maritime Union. The demand is the outcome of the Maritime Commission's action in helping to end a seaman's strike aboard the steamer Algic, a Government-owned boat currently at Montevideo. Chairman Kennedy ordered the Algic Mutineers put in Irons at the time of Montevideo trouble. Ring is accused of "prejudice and bias" toward the Union. Ring, a former Washington newspaperman, was a WPA official in New York City until his appointment to the Maritime Commission. 10/26/37
