Alison Turnbull Hopkins, state chairman of the New Jersey branch of the Congressional Union, and Agnes F. Campbell campaigned for suffrage in the 3d Congressional District in Hopkin's roadster, which was decorated in CU colors and used to attract attention along roads and in cities where speeches were made. The tour covered Spring Lake, Cranford, New Brunswick, Matawan, Belmar, Asbury Park, Bradley Bead, Lakewood and Freehold, N.J. The two added hundreds of names to the roster of the state CU branch.
