Famed flier averts crash with notables aboard. This picture was taken a moment after Clyde Pangborn, world famous flier, in attempting to taxi down the field for a take-off, clipped wings with another ship on the field. At the time of the accident, Pangborn had as passengers, Asst.Sec of War, Harry Woodring, Rep. John J. McSwain and his daughter Jane, Mrs. Donald H. McLean, wife of the Rep. of N.J., Rep. Edwin M. Schaefer, Rep. Dow(?) W. Harter, Rep. Frank J.G. Dorsey. The planes were not badly damaged but will be grounded for a while for repairs. 7/26/35

Alison Turnbull Hopkins, state chairman of the New Jersey branch of the Congressional Union, and Agnes F. Campbell campaigned for suffrage in the 3d Congressional District in Hopkin's roadster, which was decorated in CU colors and used to attract attention along roads and in cities where speeches were made. The tour covered Spring Lake, Cranford, New Brunswick, Matawan, Belmar, Asbury Park, Bradley Bead, Lakewood and Freehold, N.J. The two added hundreds of names to the roster of the state CU branch. "Coin Collector." Washington, D.C., April 11. Mrs. Edness Wilkens, Secretary to Nellie Tayloe Ross, Director of the Mint, for the last four years has been collecting coins as a hobby, thru gifts, trades, and buys, she has a collection of over 400 coins ramping from half pennies to the old silver cartwheels, she is shown inspecting a half-dime , one of the first coins struck from the Philadelphia Mint in 1792, and Mint tradition has it that the silver it contains is from the tableware of Martha Washington, she at that time lived two doors down from the Mint, and gave part of her silverware for the first coins, April 11, 1938

Drives ancient "Lizzie" to White House to show Henry Ford. Washington, D.C., April 27. His 1921 Model T Ford polished to a mirror like finish, Ernest A. Franke, elderly Washingtonian, drove to the White House executive offices to day with intentions of showing the ancient model to Henry Ford. "Where's Henry" shouted Franke, from the driver's seat, "I want to show him his old car". Police declines to allow Franke to await the arrival of Ford who was due to have lunch with President Roosevelt, 4/27/38
