Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Marine Corps Air Station Ewa Hangar, Cabot Road midway between Bismarck Sea & Vincon Roads, Ewa, Honolulu County, HI
Summary
Significance: This type of hangar is typical of those used by the Army and Navy on overseas bases during World War II. The pre-fabricated building represents the broad pattern of response of American industry to the demands of war. Such a hangar was not needed before World War II, and was not in demand after it either, but companies such as Butler Manufacturing were able to build special products that had limited customers and applications. There were only two hangars at the Marine Corps Air Station Ewa, and this is the only remaining one.
