Negro men and women work side by side on the production lines at the Saint Louis, Missouri plant of the Airplane Division of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation. The male inspector in the rear checks the accuracy of the completed work of the women in the foreground

Adding a length of drilling pipe at oil well in the Seminole oil field, Oklahoma. Clamps are put in place; wrench applied to loosen pipe; mud spurting out as the sections of pipe are loosened; freed is moved over to rat hole; lower end of traveling block is attached to pipe in rat hole by means of rope operated off winch. This entire operation takes from twenty to thirty seconds
