Probably the smallest plane in the world. Built by Edw. F. Allen of Wash, D.C., who was formerly test pilot for Army Air Service during the world war. Plane is equipped with 9 horsepower motorcycle engine and weighs only 205 lbs. with wing spread of 27 ft. Mr. Allen, in cockpit, flies it often and recently attained height of 1800 ft. capable of making 63 mph

Scene in the cotton field of the Baptist Orphanage, near Waxahachie. These boys, from seven years old and upward, pick cotton, helping this man, outside of school hours., There are 20 children in the Orphanage, mostly girls, and it is supported by the Baptists of Texas. Location: Waxahachie [vicinity], Texas.

Edgar Kitchen 13 yrs. old gets $3.25 a week working for the Bingham Bros. Dairy. Drives a dairy wagon from 7 A.M. to noon. Works on farm in afternoon (10 hours a day) seven days a week--half day on Saturday. Thinks he will work steady this year and not go to school. See previous labels in June. Not in Div. 5 or 6. B.F. Howell, Route 4, Bowling Green, Ky. and part of his family stripping tobacco. The 8 and 10-year old boys in photo "tie up waste"; his 12-year old boy and 14-year old girl (not in photo but they lose a good deal of schooling for work) are regular strippers. Homer Hunt, 11-year old berry picker. Says he has been out of school half the time for some weeks picking, and has made $10. Gets 10 cents a gallon. They are wild blackberries.
