Townsend City Savings Bank, 793 Chapel Street, New Haven, New Haven County, CT

Significance: One of the few remaining examples of a mid-19th century banking building. Second floor banking room of monumental scale has rich interior trim. Building contained the office of the Tradesman's Bank in 1853 and the Townsend City Savings Bank c. 1859.
