Summary

All-American news were the first newsreels produced for a black audience. Made in the 1940s and 1950s, they were originally intended to encourage black Americans to participate in, and support the war effort, and to reflect an African-American perspective on world and national events. Highlights of this issue include a segment about two soldiers getting purple hearts, a pianist in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Dr. Howard Odum receiving the Edward Bernays Prize.
Date in title and possible date of release are based on the tribute to Lincoln, February 12, 1945; the Harlem G.I. reception, February 18, 1945; the anniversary of St. Augustine, February 1945. Dates taken from newspaper articles and St. Augustine's website.
Appearing: Rep. Edward A. Welters, Roscoe Simmons, Senator Wimbish, Hugh Green, Speaker Schnackenberg, Ida James, Bud Pollard, Chris Columbus, Father Hines, Dr. George E. Hayes.
Cannot confirm that newsreel stories are in the same order, or on the same reel as when originally released.
