Significance: Ampere Station was of the 53 NJ TRANSIT rail stations listed on the National Register...It was an excellent example of late 19th century railroad architecture as designed by the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad. Ampere Station precipitated the development of a community surrounding the station which was then named Ampere.
