Betz's Mill, Bausch Road on Switzer Creek, 1.5 miles southeast of Lynnville, Lynnville, Lehigh County, PA
Summary
Significance: The mill is culturally significant, not only because of its longevity, but also because it contains an operable, intact wooden gearing system, mounted into a wooden Hurst frame. Through the system of shafts, gears, and sliding bearing blocks, the water wheel, turning at a set speed, could be made to rotate either pair of mill-stones at a much greater speed. The lighter staff lever system, used to adjust the settings of the runner stones, is also still intact.
