Bill to Foreclose Mortgage in Jones v. Freeman et ux, [Law papers].
Summary
Summary: Alexander Freeman purchased some land from Jones. Freeman gave Jones two promissory notes for $500 each as payment and secured the notes with a mortgage on the property. After Freeman failed to pay, Jones retained Lincoln and Herndon and sued Alexander Freeman and his wife Perlina Freeman in an action to foreclose the mortgage. The Freemans defaulted, and the court ruled for Jones and order the Freemans to pay Jones $1,213.25 within ten days or the court would sell the land. The Freemans failed to pay, and the court sold the lots to Jones for $800. The court granted the Freemans fifteen months to redeem the lots.
