The decomtamination squad (see armband) is employed to neutralize chemically, an area which has been subjected to attack with a persistent gas (mustard gas and ewsite are persistent gases, and may be sprayed or dropped from a low flying airplane). The volunteer workers above are spreading a mixture of sand and chloride of lime to neutralize the area
