Key Holes System: 1/7 holes plus 1 key, round flat flap, D#/E-flat. Pin in block.

Mark Additional: Mark on head section, sponge and fipple. Mark on body: IMPROVED
Condition: Top front hole plugged for half-hole vent.
Provenance: Mrs. J. McArthur Harris, Philadelphia, 24 Apr. 1924. DCM ledger: "Mrs. J. McArthur Harris says: 'These instruments...were made by my grandfather [Thomas Jefferson Weygandt] who was in the music business for a short time only, about 1840. He died about 1869 [Langwill says 1874], and his son (her father) died about 1910.'"
The Dayton C. Miller collection in the Library of Congress, contains nearly 1,700 flutes and other wind instruments, statuary, iconography, books, music, trade catalogs, tutors, patents, and other materials mostly related to the flute. It includes both Western and non-Western examples of flutes from around the world, with at least 460 European and American instrument makers represented. Items in the collection date from the 16th to the 20th century.
