Fort Sheridan, Cavalry Stable, Thorpe & Chapman Roads, Lake Forest, Lake County, IL
Significance: One of five cavalry stables designed by Holabird and Roche. Its excellent construction, decorative detailing and good engineering which allowed for proper lighting and ventilation are illustrative of the important place held by the horse in the pre-World War I army.
