Summary
Significance: The Jowler Creek Bridge is one of the two-arch concrete bridges of the Luten design built for the Kansas City, Clay County and St. Joseph Railway, an electric interurban railway that operated from 1913-1933. The railway was the first of its kind to offer service between the two largest cities in northwest Missouri, Kansas City and St. Joseph. In addition, it played a significant role in the development of the suburban communities in the region.
