Summary
Significance: Monmouth is a notable example of Federal and Greek Revival architecture which dominated the grand, high style dwellings of antebellum Natchez. From 1826 until 1858 Monmouth was the home of John Anthony Quitman, an important national political figure and hero of the Mexican War.
