Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (vicinity). Montour no. 4 mine of the Pittsburgh Coal Company. Above the coal seam, dairy and farm lands lay undisturbed. Only occasionally there will be "sinks" and large "pot holes" caused by the collapsing of "mined out" areas of the seam
