Ross Memorial Library Building, Main Street between Sixth & Seventh Avenues, 1 mile north of Interstate 80, Exit 9, Clarion, Clarion County, PA
Summary
Significance: Excellent example of Carnegiesque influence in civic architecture of the period. Small stone building with flat roof and pedimented portico. The roof edge is balustraded and the pediment features an open book motif framed by leafy vines. The pediment is supported by Doric columns and the doorway has a bracketed cornice with dentils and a transom. Stone laid in even courses, projecting in foundation. Rear addition: Ross Auditorium.
