Summary
Significance: It is located within the Pearl Harbor National Historic Landmark. Completed during WWII, after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, it is significant as one of the important components of the Navy Yard's repair facilities. In conjunction with Marine Railway No. 2, it facilitated the lifting and moving of large objects and structures to and from ships of the Pacific fleet as the were home-ported for repairs. It also provided critical utilities, such as steam, air, and electricity, to the Marine Railway that were required for repairs.
