Summary
Significance: The U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1964; due to the crucial role it played in the Nation's defense during the twentieth century and the devastating events which occurred on December 7, 1941. As a Category 3 structure, it is determined that Building No. 584, which housed the Pacific Submarine Museum, is of only minor importance to the historic character of Pearl Harbor.
