Summary

Significance: It was built in 1929 as an early addition to the U.S. Veterans Hospital, Jefferson Barracks. The building was the site of the hospital's psychiatric program during the time when the hospital was a general medicine facility. In 1952, the Veterans Administration, Jefferson Barracks, campus was converted to a neuropsychiatric hospital, and large new specialized neuropsychiatric buildings were opened to handle psychiatric treatment on the campus. After 1952, it was converted to a general medicine space for hospital patients. The building was later converted to a drug and alcohol ward, and then finally remodeled into administrative space during the 1990s.
