Summary
Print shows a view of the Hudson River from above Fishkill, New York, looking south along the Hudson River toward West Point. A sidewheel steamship heads south on the river, and a cowherd tends three cows at the water's edge, and another man with a stick, possibly a cowherd, in the lower right corner.

Irish-born artist W.G. Hall spent the summer of 1820 traversing 212 miles of the Hudson River's 315-mile course. 20 plates were engraved as aquatints by master printer John Hill and published between 1821 and 1825 by Henry Megarey in New York.
