News reporter before the Dies Committee. Washington, D.C., Oct. 22. Hungry college students brought an end to last year's "labor holiday" at Lansing, Mich. Donald W. Gardenor, Detroit Times Reporter, told the House Committee investigating Un-American affairs. Students at the Michigan State Agricultural College at East Lansing entered the picture Gardener said, when Union pickets attempted to close restaurants.
