Print shows a calendar illustration for the month of August, showing farmers harvesting hay, some are gathering sheaves, others transporting hay on wagons, and a group of people, possibly a family, are taking a lunch break; one laborer has laid his rake and bag on the ground and fallen asleep next to them in the shade of large trees on the right. Also shows some goats and sheep, and on the left, a barn where the hay is stored, and a church nearby, with other buildings in the background. Includes the zodiac sign "Virgo" at top, and six lines of verse printed across the bottom.
