Summary
Meserve no 39. A photograph of the President and the second son Thomas or "Tad" by Matthew B. Brady, made in Washington 1861 as the President looked at an album of photographs in Brady's studio. I t was used by Francis B. Carpenter in making his painting of the Lincoln family. The original glass negative is in the Meserve collection. (Washington 1861).
