This giant plate roller, of German design, is used to roll cold steel shell plates for members of Uncle Sam's new "Liberty Fleet" under construction at a large Eastern shipyard. This prefabrication work is being done at a nearby plant which formerly turned out freight cars. All parts are prefabricated in this huge Eastern plant which formerly turned out freight cars.
