This 15 x 30 foot panel and a second of life size entitled the Four Freedoms were displayed in Defense Square, Washington for a month beginning November 7, 1941. The panels, entitled The Four Freedoms and Arsenal of Deomocracy, were designed for the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) by Jean Carlu, eminent poster artist. They were shown first in New York and after the Washington showing went on a tour of many large cities throughout the country
