From left to right they are: Minoru, twenty-eight, and Chitsugi Manabe, twenty-three; Tooru, eighteen, and James S. Takenaka, twenty; and Shigeo, twenty-one, and Tadao Suemori, twenty. Tooru Takenaka was still a student in high school when he went up for his physical.
