Summary
Drawing shows Stavanger, a Norwegian port village on Stavangerfjorden, an arm of the Boknafjorden. Most of the houses and buildings hug the shoreline, while the church is on the hillside. Ships, sailboats, rowboats and fisherman line the shore. Taylor visited Norway in 1856 and 1857 after the death of his first wife.
