The prize - Public domain scan / drawing
Summary
Drawing shows two Norwegian peasants, one barefoot, standing at a table where a seated man holds a money bag that reads "150 silber prize." A gentleman in a long coat and wearing glasses stands behind the peasants. The scene probably takes place in Norway. Bayard Taylor traveled through Norway and Scandinavia in 1856 and 1857, after the death of his first wife.
