These are members of the Manhattan Junior Red Cross, children in the ungraded classes in the P.S. 63, New York City. Part of their schooling is the making of these toys, a task in which they have become adept. Every Christmas and several times a year beside, these children sent large consignments of substantial, gaily painted toys which they have made themselves, to the immigrant children who are sick at Ellis Island, and to the children in the city tuberculosis camps
