Summary
Significance: The Washington Primary School is a heavily-modified 1909 school house near downtown Napa, California. It was designed by local Napa architect, Luther M. Turton. It served as a school building between 1909 and the early 1950s; it has been used as a county administrative building since about 1950. The building was evaluated in 1991 by Dan Peterson, AIA and was determined not to be eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. This recordation under the standards of the Historic American Buildings Survey is being conducted in relation to a proposal to demolish the building.
