Sketch of soldier on verso, with inscription: 2nd barricade after leaving Vienna on the road to Fairfax. Put in any quantity of men with axes in their shirt sleeves skirmishers with a blanket over shoulder have sack canteen and ammunition rifles. If you please put in the extreme foreground a cannon and on the left continue the woods at the side of the road and make horse and foot winding through.
