French orphans see a circus. As guests of the American Red Cross, 4,000 French war orphans saw their first circus, recently, in Lille. To these lonely war-worn youngsters trained dogs, acrobats, clowns and magic circles furnished the first real amusement since the war started and their enthusiasm was worthy of the occasion. At the close of the performance they were given a real American "treat" of stick candy and toys from their "Junior" friends across the sea. American aid in relief supplies of food, clothing and badly needed household necessities continue to be one of the big factors of encouragement to the returning industrial population in hastening reconstruction plans
