Interior of the Sorbonne on the occasion of a conference held in honor of the American Red Cross Oct. 23, 1918, under the presidency of M. Louis Bathou of the Academie, France. Speeches expressing appreciation of the work of the American Red Cross were made by M. Mourier, under Secretary of State of the Service de Sante, who spoke in the name of the government, M. Firmin Roz, Mme. Siegfried, General Malleterre and others. Mr. Davison, Chairman of the American Red Cross responded. The upper part of the picture shows the famous mural decorations by Puvis de Chavannes
