Kinder, kinder, Yiddish-American song sheet music
Summary
"Children, children" from "Tisza-Eszler (name of a town in Hungary)." In 1882, fifteen Jews were imprisoned, and stood trial in the town of Tisza-Eszla. They were accused of the ritual murder of a local girl who had been missing. She was reported alive in another village, but the Jews of the town had to leave the area. "Dear child, your father labors for bread, and your mother struggles to keep you safe from any cruel harm." Source: Heskes, Irene, Yiddish American Popular Songs 1895-1950. (General)
