Summary
This map shows the location of the two armies on the eve of the Chancellorsville Campaign. Union Gen. Hooker has moved his forces via Kelly's Ford into position south of the Rappahannock near Chancellorsville, Va., to launch what he believes will be a rear attack on Gen. R. E. Lee's Fredericksburg stronghold. Meanwhile Federal forces under Sedgwick continue a diversionary frontal assault on Fredericksburg. Details of roads, railroads, bridges, fords, buildings serving as landmarks or used as headquarters are indicated.
