To this fine hospital which is modern and as well equipped as its exterior would lead one to believe the American Red Cross sent many Russian refugees who were evacuated from the Russian Black Sea ports. Bulgarians feel greatly indepted sic to the Russians and received the refugees with open arms

The home of its parliament of Sofia is a particularly fine piece of substantial architecture and it bears many signs of the march of progress among the Bulgarians

When it becomes necessary to evacuate thousands of Russian refugees from Odessa and other Black Sea ports, the American Red Cross relief expedition sent many of them to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, where they were cared for in the state hospital, the largest in the country. Bulgaria was glad to have the Russians, whose country has done so much for them in the past centuries

Royal summer palace, Euxinograd at Varna on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, where hundreds of Russian refugees evacuated from Odessa, and other southern ports, were brought by the American Red Cross. The Bulgarians were glad to care for the Russian refugees, feeling that they were helping to pay in a slight measure the debt of traditional gratitude they owe to the Russians for their independence as a kingdom
