Summary

Significance: Facility S195 was built in 1938 as part of the development of recreational facilities for the Fleet Air Base personnel at Ford Island in the period before World War II. The swimming pool is indicative of the military's desire to improve living conditions for its personnel by creating complete and comfortable neighborhoods within installation boundaries. The pool has integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship, feeling, and association. It has been evaluated as contributing to the Pearl Harbor National Historic Landmark.
