Print shows an artillery six-horse team with mounted soldiers dragging a caisson and cannon through mud on a dirt road along the edge of a forest; while the horses hooves are clean, the wagon wheels are heavily caked with mud. Also shows a dead horse just off the trail, in the lower left foreground.
