Summary
Significance: These housing units are significant as the quarters of the senior officers of the Naval Air Station. Two of the three garages are historic buildings that contribute to this historic group of structures. One garage and two other outbuildings, as discussed below, have recently been rebuilt, and one outbuilding is not yet 50 years old. The group of houses and garages, built in 1943-1945, form a unified area significant for its landscaping, open space and consistent house design. The house with garage type embodies distinctive characteristics of officer housing of this period.
