Caption continues: General Palmer's Division, Col. Scribner's and Col. John Beatty's Brigades and the Regular Brigade, on the 31st of December, 1862, as seen from the position of the 15th and 19th Regulars while supporting Guenther's and Loomis' Batteries.
Original print was sketched by A.E. Mathews, 31st Regiment, O.V.I. and published by Middleton, Strobridge & Co.; while the illustration is the same, except that this copy is tinted blue, it has slightly different text printed below image.
Library has two impressions with varying text, this copy was submitted for copyright in 1900.
